Permits

Electrical Permit 
A Fire Department Fire Alarm Plan Review Permit has been included on the Saginaw Township Electrical Permit.  It must be applied for and approved prior to electrical work being performed on fire alarm systems, including wiring and installation of detection and notification devices. A copy of the permit may be downloaded HERE.  The completed permit and fees shall be submitted to the Saginaw Township Community Development Department.

Mechanical Permit 
A Fire Department Mechanical Plan Review Permit has been included on the Saginaw Township Mechanical Permit.  It must be applied for and approved prior to mechanical work being performed on commercial exhaust hoods, including fire suppression systems, and all other fire suppression systems. A copy of the permit may be downloaded HERE.  The completed permit and fees shall be submitted to the Saginaw Township Community Development Department.

Operational Permit
Permits are required to conduct a variety of operations, including exhibits or trade shows, hazardous materials, carnivals or fairs, compressed gases, fireworks exhibits, and tents. An operational permit shall be submitted to, and approved by, the Saginaw Township Fire Department. A copy of the permit may be downloaded HERE.  The completed permit and fees shall be submitted to the Saginaw Township Clerk's office.

Tent Permit
A permit is required for temporary outdoor displays, such as tents and sidewalk sales. There is $100.00 bond that shall accompany the Temporary Outdoor Display permit application. The display shall not exceed seven days per calendar year. A copy of the Temporary Outdoor Display permit is available for download HEREThe Fire Department requires the Operational Permit Application (available above) to be completed and returned with a $25.00 fee to the Clerk's office, if a tent is used. BOTH applications and all applicable fees must be filed with the Clerk's office 14 days prior to the event.

Fire Suppression Contractor Registration
Effective April 30, 2010, all "persons, companies or corporations that service, recharge, install, hydro-test, inspect, maintain, alter, repair, or replaces fire extinguishers, fire suppression devices or systems, other than water based fire sprinkler systems, shall have a Contractor Registration issued by the Fire Prevention Bureau.  The Contractor Registration form is available for download HERE.

REMINDER: The registration form shall be completed for each individual employed in the work or service as noted above.
