Light Up State Street

Help Light Up State Street

Saginaw Township, MI – Organizers are expecting several hundred people to gather at Horizon’s Conference Center Thursday, December 4, to officially kick off the holiday season.

A tree, provided by Horizon’s, will be the centerpiece of the holiday lighting.  The event, scheduled to begin at 5:30 pm,  will feature music (provided by Heritage High School Band) hot chocolate and coffee (provided by Tim Horton’s), a coloring contest and sing along carols along with a visit from the North Pole’s most famous resident, Santa.  The Saginaw Township Fire Department will be on hand as well, to ensure Santa’s safe arrival.

Makin’ Bacon, a local food truck, will also be on hand.  This year, we are asking residents to come dressed for the North Pole.  Everyone attending the event wearing a santa hat, reindeer antlers, etc., will have the chance to enter their name in a drawing to officially light the tree.  The randomly selected winner will use a new, six foot tall candy cane switch to officially start the holiday season.

The event, sponsored and organized by the State Street Corridor Improvement District, would not have been possible without the support and assistance of:
