By State law, fireworks are permitted to be used until 1 am. on the following national holidays or the day before or after:
- New Year's Day, January 1
- Martin Luther King Day, third Monday in January
- President's Day, third Monday in February
- Memorial Day, last Monday in May
- Independence Day, July 4
- Labor Day, first Monday in September
- Columbus Day, second Monday in October
- Veteran's Day, November 11
- Thanksgiving, fourth Thursday in November
- Christmas Day, December 25
On all other days, no person is permitted to ignite, discharge or use consumer fireworks between 10 p.m. and 8 a.m. Violations are considered a civil infraction and a ticket may be issued. Violations should be reported to the Police Department by calling 911 while the event is occurring.
