January Artist of the Month - Bill Brinker

The Saginaw Charter Township Art In Public Places is proud to present Bill Brinker of Saginaw Township, Michigan, for the month of January.

ARTIST STATEMENT

Bill Brinker is married with two children and one grandson. He has lived in Michigan, mostly in the Saginaw area, all of his life. Bill served four years in the U.S. Air Force, spending one year in South Vietnam.

Bill was a 1968 graduate of Kendall School of Art and Design, majoring in Fine Arts and Illustration. The advertising business is where Bill worked as an illustrator/designer for his entire career. He worked in Saginaw and Midland for two firms, spending most of his time with Bradford/LaRiviere, Inc. Later he freelanced as an illustrator/designer doing work for many Michigan based businesses.

Bill’s fine art career has paralleled his advertising career, developing watercolor, oil and pencil techniques in the process. His work appears in many private collections and he has won numerous awards in art shows throughout Michigan. Bill has taught watercolor classes out of his home for several years.

Bill’s art exhibit will be shown at the Saginaw Charter Township Hall, 4980 Shattuck Road, Saginaw, Michigan, during business hours Monday - Friday, 8:00 am - 5:00 p.m., January 4 through January 29, 2016.
