Zoning Board of Appeals

The function of the Zoning Board of Appeals is to hear and decide appeals from and review any order, requirement, decision or determination made by any administrative official charged with enforcement of the zoning ordinance. It shall also hear and decide all matters referred to it or upon which it is required to pass under the Township zoning ordinance. It may further grant variances from the strict letter of the ordinance where there is practical difficulty or unnecessary hardship in conforming with such ordinance so that the spirit of the ordinance shall still be observed, public safety secured and substantial justice done. Meetings are held monthly when needed. Applications for a request for a variance are required to be received 30 days prior to the hearing date.
